Mike Donoho is the guy who could write the book on Style and Elegance Meet Functionality for custom aircraft interiors. Mike’s rich background and broad experience in the aviation industry make him the perfect sounding board for Signature Plating product development plans and growth initiatives.
As former owner and CEO of ABI (Aircraft Belts, Inc.) for more than 25 years, Mike provides the organizational vision that has helped build Signature Plating into a first tier provider of top quality work. He knows from experience that this industry will accept nothing less than the best.
Continuous improvement, that’s the standard Mike sets for himself and the company every day, leading each member of the team to serve our customers by doing things better, smarter, and more efficiently.
Mr. Sahanek career has been quite diverse including extensive experience as a Master Electrician and work in the law enforcement field. Sahanek was part of the original start-up of Signature Plating coming on board after having overseen the construction of the facility as a member of Bexar electric (IES). He then took a two year hiatus to pursue other opportunities before returning (April 2011) as General Manager. In January of 2017, Paul became the President of Signature Plating.
Coordinating production on a time and labor intense trade is an art. There is nothing Mr. Sahanek won’t take on or help out with. You have a production issue or question, Paul will likely know more about a solution than anyone in the industry.
An industry veteran with more than 20 years experience McKnight is considered one of the foremost experts of both aircraft restraint systems and aircraft interior decorative plating. Highly adept in formulating true win-win agreements through the brokering of major industry deals, Frank relies on his superior strategic planning and critical thinking skills to regularly exceed customers’ expectations.
As the former President of ABI (Aircraft Belts, Inc.), Frank excelled set the standard for superior customer service in the industry, one that we still measure ourselves by today. Downplaying his reputation as a customer service guru, Frank credits a simple philosophy for his success, “We provide 24/7 communication with our customers whether it be good, bad or indifferent information. Can’t do is not an option when a customer requests something.”
With more than 30 years of diverse aviation experience, Zane Leake brings a wealth of knowledge that translates to solid business practices and customer support. His past work provides clear insight into virtually every aspect of the aviation world, from maintenance, operations, passenger relations, supply chain management and sales and marketing. His stellar reputation and willingness to go above and beyond make Leake a true asset to the organization and the customers he serves. His sincere demeanor and approach has been key in building meaningful long term relationships. Leake’s professionalism will always be an asset to Signature but most importantly to its customers.
Matthew provides a very diverse skill base in the decorative electro plating industry. This includes a throrough understanding of the production process, excellent customer relation skills and cultivates in his leadership position in Signature’s Quality department. Matthew’s ability to multi task is his greatest strength handling multiple projects, assignments and challenges simultaneously.
Traci has been a valued team member with Signature Plating from 2003-2007, and then again from 2012 to the present. She takes Customer Service to heart and is the definition of Customer Advocate. “Above and beyond” no matter the circumstances or time of day. The accolades from our Customers regarding Traci are Superhero-ish.
Traci also worked with ABI as a Customer Service representative from 1995 to 2007. She has a great knowledge of the safety restraint industry as well as the plating side of the Business Aviation market. She is truly a professional and our customers and Signature are blessed to have her on our team.
James came to Signature Plating in 2010 from Caterpillar Industries where he served as a Team Leader. Through his own perseverance and dedication he moved rapidly through the ranks here at Signature Plating. James learned and is capable of performing 90% of the process-related tasks on the plating floor and in a very short time was named Production Manager where he has made significant contributions to our operational efficiencies. He is directly involved in our daily production planning meetings where his contribution is invaluable.
James earned an Associates of Science from South Texas College and Signature Plating is grateful and fortunate to have him as a key member on our Management Team.
Mr. Jeffers career started in aviation in 1991 working for Aircraft Belts, Inc. (ABI) honing his skills to becoming the Production Manager until the company was moved in 2007. During his tenure he developed processes for refurbishing seat belt hardware for the commercial airlines and was a key factor in developing the final finishing and assembly of ABI’s stainless steel hardware, ABISS. In addition to these two areas Lance managed inventory and production personnel insuring all customer needs were met by the company. Upon leaving ABI Lance worked a for a commercial HVAC company enhancing their customer interaction and improving their customer service. Prior to becoming a member of our Management Team at Signature Plating, Lance spent several years working at MD Anderson Medical Center in Houston in a role of Facility Maintenance, again enriching the customer experience and exceeding customer expectations. Lance, as our Director of Maintenance, brought a wealth of integrity to our team that had an immediate impact on our overall operations.
Nikki Gledhill started her career in the high-end luxury market right after graduation by accepting a position at an aircraft interior design and modification center as an Interior Designer. Nikki worked her way up to Senior Interior Designer where she was responsible for decorative styling for all in-house design projects. While working at the aircraft design and modification center, Mrs. Gledhill traveled the world meeting with top executives, head of state customers, and vendors; and through those travels she has gained extensive knowledge of high end luxury materials. Those travels were the taste Nikki needed to put her passion for design and owning her own company into plan when creating MBG International Design, LLC. in 2009. Nikki strives to provide the most comprehensive, thought-out design with no stone left unturned when reaching final designs and selections.

Shannon Smiles is Signature Plating’s Vice President of Programs.
In her role she will be responsible for program management associated with the current and growing customer base, supply chain management processes, and driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvements within the organization. Shannon has a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University and a Master’s in Management from Southern Wesleyan University. She is a Lean Expert and Green Belt Certified. With over 20 years of supply chain management, leadership, and lean manufacturing in the aviation industry, Shannon brings a wealth of knowledge and industry experience to Signature Plating. Shannon’s experience, first-hand knowledge of the industry, and best practices will be key in supporting our customer focus, production, and quality processes. Her knowledge in these areas was instrumental in leading Signature Plating to achieving AS9100 certification. Shannon’s previous experience comes from various Supply Chain Leadership positions at Honeywell, Associated Air Center, Gulfstream, and Shannon C. Smiles Consulting. Her diverse experience will be key to supporting Signature’s focus on supporting global growth, continuous improvement, and implementing industry best practices to support our customers. Shannon has had the opportunity to work closely with Signature Plating in the past and appreciates how customer oriented and quality driven the team is. She is dedicated to support the Signature Plating Team, customers, along with the growth initiatives for the company.
